Mental Health & Addiction Services

By working collaboratively South Island DHBs can strengthen regional integration of services and improve the quality, access and sustainability of mental health services. Mental Health & Addiction Services Service Level Alliance (MH&AS SLA) provides guidance and direction to the mental health sector, focusing the planning and development of improvements to services.

MH&AS SLA draws on expertise from across the mental health sector, including health professionals, consumer advocates and non-profit organisations to work on collaborative initiatives that will improve the quality of services for the South Island community.

The group is working on projects in the following areas: mental health and intellectual disability interface, Pacific mental health, Mothers and Babies, Eating Disorders, Medical Detoxification, Youth Alcohol and other Drugs, Inpatient Child and Family.
